Beginning this September, I will be taking on a new role as Associate Dean at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management. My portfolio consists primarily of helping the Dean grow our programs—in impact and in reach. It is an exciting time, and an exciting opportunity!
With the new set of responsibilities, I will be posting only sporadically. What I’m hoping to chronicle in the future, continuing with the data science theme of my blog, is our effort to build a predictive model of student retention. Like most universities, a critical priority for Bloch is increasing retention and graduation rates among current students. Being an urban research university serving a wonderfully diverse student population increases the complexity of a predictive model, so I am looking forward to the challenge!
I will still be teaching in the data science and analytics space, and continuing my research on entrepreneurial orientation and strategic entrepreneurial behaviors, and research on causal inference within the strategic entrepreneurship field. Here’s hoping for good luck on the publishing front!
